Ropeye on Board Lisa R – Smart Upgrades Lead to Victory at SNIM 2025
Lisa R, the Ker 46 owned by Giovanni Di Vincenzo, kicked off the 2025 season in the best possible way by winning the prestigious Semaine Internationale de Marseille (SNIM), dominating one of the most competitive classes, IRC 0/1.
This important result is the outcome of a remarkable team effort both on the water and behind the scenes during the winter refit. In this key phase of preparation, Ropeye was actively involved in the redesign and optimization of all onboard systems, with a focus on weight reduction, efficiency improvement, and high-load sealing performance.
“Collaborating with a team and a boat as renowned as Lisa R is a true pleasure for us,” says Matteo Sericano, Technical Director at Ropeye. “We worked on optimizing the deck layout, reducing overall weight, and simplifying internal systems, which on a Ker 46 as on many IRC-optimized boats are at the heart of every maneuver. I like to think of our products as small drops that, when put together, create a sea of improvement.”
Technical Upgrades: Ropeye Products in Action
During the winter works, the Lisa R team integrated Ropeye products into key areas of the boat to enhance performance and streamline handling:
Ropeye Loop + TDP installed along the toerails for barber hauler and staysail systems, in the cockpit for sheeting and mainsheet traveler returns, and as secure anchor points for offshore liferafts.
Ropeye Pro Loop used in high-load areas like Jennaker and Code 0 sheets, delivering reliable strength and minimal weight.
Ropeye X Padeyes used throughout the interior: from internal line routing and cable management to clever hanging solutions for crew foul weather gear.
Shared Vision, Shared Success
These upgrades allowed Lisa R to enter SNIM 2025 with a cleaner, more reactive, and more efficient deck and below-deck system. As Francesco Bertone, tactician for the team, shares:
“Lisa R wins the Semaine Internationale de Marseille 2025! Great battles on the water in IRC 0/1... We finish tied on points with @alizee.by.guenifey and @team_2.3_vito. A tricky third day for us, but we could fight back!”
It was a spectacular week of sailing in a world-class venue, where the meticulous work done over the winter truly paid off.
