Antal e Ropeye leading the way, together.

Following the agreement with Karver and the acquisition of XPO, the Antal Group makes another strategic move: a technical collaboration with Ropeye.

Padova, 10th February 2026

The Antal Group, following the commercial agreement with Karver and the acquisition of XPO, announces another important step in its growth through the newly established strategic collaboration with Ropeye, a manufacturer of composite and textile components.

The Italian Padua based company, specialized in the production of hardware for sailing yachts of any size, strongly believes in the quality of Ropeye’s products in order to develop an alliance that can lead both brands to deliver successful projects together.

The agreement with Karver focused on the customer portfolio and on the possibility of mutually expanding each other’s catalogues with a broader range of products, while the transaction with XPO was a full acquisition aimed at entering even more deeply into the French market.

The strategic collaboration with Ropeye, on the other hand, has the objective of being able to offer on selected projects, particularly in the racing world, a complete 360-degree mutual offering.

Ropeye, in fact, with its manufacturing site in Tallinn but with the entrepreneurial core of its ownership based between Padua and Milan, is one of the leading companies supplying components for the IMOCA 60 Class and for a very large number of projects in the racing world, where Antal is also increasingly present, especially in the Class 40 segment.

Enrico Gomiero

“First of all, I believe this strategic agreement is a great story of how two companies from the same area, Padua, decide to combine their expertise to strengthen a path of international growth in the sailing world, where technological innovations and new materials are driving an important acceleration of change. I also want to emphasize how deeply Antal believes in the quality and research that Ropeye puts into its products.”

Giovanni Licursi

“The collaboration with the Antal Group represents a strategic step of great value for Ropeye. We share a common vision based on research, innovation, and absolute focus on performance, especially in the racing world, where every detail makes the difference. Antal is a partner with a strong industrial history, a deep technical culture, and an international presence that aligns perfectly with the growth path we are pursuing.

Combining our expertise means we can offer increasingly integrated, lightweight, and high-performance solutions, meeting the needs of the most advanced projects while keeping our outlook constantly open to global innovation.”

Antal

The Padua based company is the result of a true family story. It was founded in 1977 by Gastone Carraro, who combined his experience from the family foundry, established in 1950, with his mechanical expertise dating back to the 1940s and his passion for sailing. The Carraro family led Antal for over 45 years. During this time, thanks to the distinctive technical skills and innovations introduced by Roberto Carraro, the company partnered with world-class sailing champions. Today, this long-standing tradition continues with the entry of two families into the company’s shareholding structure. These families, driven by their passion, have decided to invest in Antal through a joint venture to help it achieve new milestones: the Gomiero family and the Bruno family. Enrico Gomiero brings with him a technical and financial background developed through extensive managerial experience in multinational companies. Renato Bruno brings significant entrepreneurial expertise from various sectors (some of which are synergistic with Antal’s production activities), with “Bruno Generators Group” standing out as his flagship enterprise. Antal offers a catalog that caters to every need, featuring a complete range of deck hardware. This includes both standard and custom solutions designed to meet the requirements of small recreational boats, superyachts, whether for cruising or racing. The company has a network of distributors in 21 countries worldwide and collaborates with leading Italian and international sailing shipyards.

Ropeye

Founded in 2012 from the idea of an Estonian sailor and entrepreneur, Ropeye still retains its manufacturing site in Tallinn today, but it is for all intents and purposes Italian-owned. It is a company that has revolutionized the deck equipment sector for sailing yachts, replacing heavy metal components with solutions made of carbon fiber and textile fiber (Dyneema). It designs and manufactures ultra-light marine hardware; one of its iconic products is the “textile padeye” (padeye), a fixing point on the boat’s deck which, instead of being a bolted steel ring, consists of a high-strength textile fiber loop integrated into a carbon base. Today Ropeye is one of the reference points for global racing classes, from offshore racing to the America’s Cup, and it is also a key player in the world of production racing yachts.
